Version 1.24

This version mainly incorporates updates to various internal libraries.

• Improve: New license format incorporated which resolves all remaining issues with Mac OS X Leopard on Intel. The new format is also a lot less likely to be mangled by email software. The format for versions 1.19-1.23 remains recognised, so existing license holders won't notice any change.
• Improve: On X11, RReplace now provides an explicit suggestion to set the BROWSER environment variable if it's missing.
• Improve: Nag is now less annoying during the 30 day trial period, more annoying in 'extra time', and provides a means to buy and input the license even when expired.
• Improve: If the program is run outside a windowing environment (eg, from MS-DOS, an ssh session, etc), it now presents a cleaner error message without the error trace.
• Change: On Windows and X11, toolbar spacing tweaked to be more platform appropriate and there's now a separator between it and the main menu.
• Change: Minor reorg of Preferences dialog.
• Change: Minor visual tweaks to the Check for Updates info dialog and the About dialog's animation.
• Bug-fix: On Windows Vista/Seven: Config directory changed.

Note: This software has been tested and confirmed working in Windows 8 and 10.

Version 1.23

• Bug-fix: WINE 1.0.1 changed its registry tree enough to fool our detection. Consequently DND attempted and failed to load even though we know the lib doesn't work there.
• Bug-fix: 'element "styName" doesn't exist' error.
• Change: Treeview font back to the normal size again.

(Released: 2009-08-21.) Users of v1.22 are strongly advised to update.

Version 1.22

• Improve: Columns in the selection tree are now draggable, so you can have them in any order you like.
• Improve: 'Updates are available' dialog is now resizable (and defaults to a larger size) for easier reading.
• Improve: When changing from Files to Filenames mode, controls are no longer destroyed & recreated but hidden & shown. Improves the smoothness of the transition.
• Improve: New 'Why Register' text.
• Improve: On Mac, a new colour scheme and safari/steel buttons. Paned window sashes now have dimples.
• Improve: Info/Warnings now coloured orange rather than red.
• Improve: Menu based file/directory addition and Drag and Drop file/directory addition handled from the same code, increasing maintainability and consistency.
• Change: Backup filenames are now tagged with the datetime the Search and Replace task started rather than when the individual backup file was created. This helps people who wish to programatically reverse changes made to a large group of files, which might otherwise be named with a range covering a few seconds.
• Change: Removed TLS internal lib as it's no longer necessary. Shaves 240K (Windows), 34K (Mac) and 40K (Linux) from downloads and removes the need for OpenSSL on Linux.
• Bug-fix: Info/Warnings no longer appear in the status bar or prematurely close the progress bar.
• Bug-fix: Drag and Drop (Windows) no longer sees widgets 'blinking'.
